Altimate.Showdown Season Three - Heat One

It’s that time of the year for the Magandjin edition of altimate.SHOWDOWN. This year marks the third season, which kicked off with both Heat One and Heat Two this past week.

For those not in the know, altimate.SHOWDOWN is a genre-spanning competition that unapologetically celebrates everyone who is different and uniquely fierce, with a strong focus on showcasing diversity and local performers. It is one of my favourite events of the year that produces some seriously jaw-dropping performances. But what makes this event unique is the beautiful sense of community it brings as well. It is truly something special that I’m so privileged to be a part of.

Over the next month or so, I’ll be shooting every heat, including the grand final. As a result, I’ll be highlighting some of my favourite shots as the competition progresses.
