It goes without saying Meanjin (Brisbane) Drag is next level. So, I may be biased, but it is some of the best you’ll ever see. A big call, I know, but the reason for this is the drag that Meanjin produces, covers just about every category possible. And the community, for the most part, embraces and supports it in all its differences as well. There’s literally something for everyone.

Which brings me to the topic of Drag Kings in Meanjin. We have some spectacular performers, and it’s been inspiring to see an increase in more venues and events showcasing their talents on stage. But it goes without saying, hire more Drag Kings for your shows! Toucan Kings is a Drag King Collective of some pretty well-known names from the local Drag King Scene. Recently, the Masc4Masc4Masc trio featuring Lord Sev, Archie Arsenic and Zelphia Mann hit the Alt. stage with a glam rock version of “Raining Men.”

The high-energy trio lit up the stage in more ways than one.
