You know how I’m always going on about Hollywood having run out of original ideas? Well I’m pretty sure we can now officially say Hollywood has finally run out of original ideas thanks to the newest addition to films that should not have been made coming in the form of The Emoji Movie.
The film which is most likely the result of some movie executive drunk on passion pop looking down at his phone one day, is based on those cute little pictures we use on a daily basis often to substitute sex and other things we’re too lazy to express with words, and somehow the film got financed and has dropped it’s first teaser trailer. It’s bad… very bad. Now if the whole concept of The Emoji Movie wasn’t banana fodder enough, they released it in goddamn portrait. So they’re trying to be hip with the whole mobile phone aspect, but it just doesn’t do the prospective film and favours.
The Emoji Movie showcases the “voice talents” of Steven Wright, T.J. Miller, Ilana Glazer and James Corden. If the concept wasn’t bad enough, the sound of Steven Wright saying “Meh” most likely sums up what this train wreck of a film will be. I know I’m jumping the gun here, but isn’t the point of a teaser trailer is to tease viewer’s of the film’s greatness? There is nothing great about this.
Check out the teaser below.
Who is honestly going to pay to watch this? It’s films like this that encourage illegal downloading. Just sayin’
