Netflix introduces new download option for internet-free streaming

Rejoice! You’ve asked and Netflix has delivered.

The biggest issue I have with streaming services is you have to always be connected to the Internet. Not to mention it can end up being bloody expensive trying to find out what happened next to the kids on Stranger Things.  Well it turns out Netflix is looking at addressing the issue with their latest app update, that sees the service allowing you to download content to your mobile device to watch offline. This is definitely going bring a smile to the 86.7 million users of Netflix!

“While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where internet is expensive or limited.” said Netflix’s director of product innovation,  Eddy Wu.

Couldn’t agree with you more Eddy!

Currently it’s only available for Netflix’s original productions such Stranger Things, Orange is the New Black and so on.  With Netflix’s large library, there would definitely be negotiations with what content can be distributed by download. So don’t get too excited yet.  However, this is a step in the right direction. So thanks Netflix!

What will you download to watch?
