Disney, what the hell are you doing?
The world wants a sequel, not a bloody remake! I don’t care what anyone says, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, were absolutely spellbinding as the Sanderson sisters in Hocus Pocus.
For years fans of the 1993 cult classic, along with its own stars have lived in hope for a sequel that would reunite the original wicked trio. However, all hopes have been dashed with The Disney Channel announcing plans to remake Hocus Pocus as a TV movie.
If you were hoping for the original Sanderson sisters, you’ll be gravely disappointed. Neither of its original stars or its director Kenny Ortega will be involved. Instead, the remake will have a new cast and new director. The unneeded remake will be written by Scarlett Lacey and David Kirschner, who produced the original will take the role as executive producer. I won’t lie, I’m pretty disappointed in Kirschner and his treachery. He’s pretty much placed a noose around the sisters’ necks destroying all hope of a proper sequel.

Bette Midler once tweeted the reason why the sequel hadn’t was that Disney was struggling to find a virgin. Perhaps she should have tweeted the true reason, they were struggling for an original thought.
Maybe The Disney Channel can’t afford the paychecks of having the original three return to the roles. Even then, it still doesn’t help with the impending fact we’re getting a remake of something we really don’t want.
If it’s not broken, don’t try and fix it!
