While we’re all guessing how Game of Thrones will wrap up its final season, HBO programming has thrown a massive curve ball to confuse us even more.
There’s no denying with such a successful show as Game of Thrones, it does run its risks of spoilers and episodes being leaked. Just look at what happened during season seven.
To tackle the issue, HBO’s president of programming has revealed that they’re filming multiple endings to avoid the finale being spoiled by leaks.
“I know in ‘Game of Thrones’, the ending, they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really knows what happens,” HBO’s Casey Bloys tells The Morning Call.
“You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”
Between the HBO hack, leaked episode four, the early screening of episode 5 (thanks Spain!), and the numerous paparazzi snaps of filming, a majority of the plot was already known before the episodes aired.
It’s good to see HBO is taking action to fix the onslaught of leaks to save the surprise of the finale. This also opens the floodgates for various speculations as to which alternative ending will wrap up eight years of the captivating series.
Now the question everyone is wondering, will we get to see any of these alternate endings?
