Get excited peeps we’re one step closer to that young Han Solo movie.
Today director Chris Miller declared to the world that filming for the movie has started by tweeting a photo of the Star Wars standalone film’s very first clapperboard, showing that are on roll one, take one.
Miller accompanied the tweet with just the words, “Han First Shot,” a clever homage to the decades-old discussion about whether Solo shot Greedo during the the two character’s tense encounter in A New Hope. At this point, we don’t really care who old Solo shot first as long as this new young Solo captures what fans for decades have grown to love about the iconic character originally played by Harrison Ford.

It also must be noted that the name of the film as it currently reads on the clapperboard is Star Wars: Red Cup. The “red cup” is of course a reference to the disposable party cups from the Solo brand. I highly doubt this working title will become the film’s final title, but it’s great to see even behind the scenes, there seems to a lot of fun to be had.
Stepping into the boots of Harrison Ford is titular row will be Alden Ehrenreich, and will be joined by Donald Glover who’s playing a young Lando Carlrissian, Woody Harrelson as Han’s mentor and Emilia Clarke currently in an undisclosed role. My bets on Clarke being a potential love interest. What’s a Han Solo movie without bit of suave smuggler romance?
Please give us the bad-ass Han Solo movie both the fans and character deserve and want!
