If Disney’s Beauty and the Beast wasn’t part of your regular viewing as a child, I truly feel sorry for you. I don’t care what anyone says. It’s a classic! I’ve been to a fair amount of screenings in my time. I’ve met celebrities, directors etc, but this is one screening I would have died to have attended. During 25th anniversary screening of Beauty and the Beast on Sunday, Fans were treated with a special performance when Mrs. Potts herself, Angela Lansbury, took to the stage to sing the film’s title song.
The Lansbury was joined onstage by composer Alan Mencken at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall for a performance that shows the 90-year-old still has it.
Check it out below.
Stunning. 25 years later she still sounds exactly like Mrs. Potts. Oh the nostalgia… and that disturbing feeling that I really am getting old.
